Oh no, you mean that horror movie @markkujantunen 😉
Our Krampus is a very old historic figure that comes together with Nikolaus - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus

Krampus
In Central European folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as "half-goat, half-demon", who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. Krampus is one of the companions of Saint Nicholas in several regions including Austria, Bavaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Northern Italy including South Tyrol and the Province of Trento, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The origin of the figure is unclear; some folklorists and anthropologists have postulated it as having pre-Christian origins.
In traditional parades and in such events as the Krampuslauf (English: Krampus run), young men dressed as Krampus participate; such events occur annually in most Alpine towns.

But he is the anti Santa in the sense that he does the punishing whereas Santa gives the gifts.
Krampus is the bad cop and Santa is the good one.

Yes, you are completely right, of course, but when you mentioned it in your comment I thought you meant that !DERANGED movie a few years ago ;)
To us they both belong together and both have visited us at home when I was a child - we loved both 😉

Oh, Santa goes door to door in Austria, too? Here it's just Santa. He comes at Christmas Eve early in the evening. Strangely, no kid ever questions the fact that Santa is able to visit all the kids at the same time ...

Here the Nikolaus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas) goes from door to door on December 5th or 6th and brings small presents. He tells the children what they have done wrong (their parents told him before, of course). The Krampus accompanies him (for the bad children ;).

On December 24 comes the Christkind with presents (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christkind). We don't have the Santa Claus, because it would be much to much work for him to visit the children in Austria at the same time too ;) lol
