Cesky Krumlov, take two.

A shorter poster from me today, to supplement my post yesterday on the beautiful Cesky Krumlov. It is often described as one of the most picturesque towns in Europe, and I hope from my pictures that this really comes through. It really does feel like small version of Prague, the roofs of most of the buildings are a distinct red clay colour, and the castle sitting just a few minutes from the natural moat of the winding Vltava river remind me a lot of thee Prague Castle.

With just under 15,000 inhabitants, the place is really not that large. Most of them will be around the old town square during the day.

In case you didn't know, Cesky Krumlov is located in South Bohemia and is like a city from the middle ages. Actually, the town gives this feeling because it is in-fact mostly established during that part of history.

Most of the streets in the city are closed to cars, so what you have left, is a lot of cobble stone foot paths. You can spend a lot of time walking around and appreciating each and every building. It's such a magical experience, and each building seems to have a story to tell.

The river is also stunning. So many people like to go on it for rafting and kayaking. It's wider than it looks but isn't too shallow. In warmer times, people can definitely take a dip.

Without a doubt one of the most stunning places in the Czech Republic, every angle you look at this city is like an oil painting. There are many museums documenting the history of this town but honestly, just walking around the streets is like visiting a museum so try to get as much of that done as possible.
