Lady7 Café in Chongqing

Afternoon tea with the girls is not a simple affair. When one wants to discuss daily matters with her girlfriends, it needs to be done in style. Lady7 Café in Chongqing is such a place that offers a perfect hangout for some girly catch up.

The premises is nothing short of elegant, featuring décor that is beautiful and one would be forgiven to think had entered an enchanted forest of some sort. As the name suggests, this is a venue for the ladies. Our girly meet here was for a smaller group and the staff were most accommodating throughout our stay. It’s possible to dine here with many European and Asian style dishes available but on this occasion it was time for some light treats, drinks and catching up.

If you are one for flowers, Lady7 is filled with foliage and colourful petals in every corner. Even the mirrors reflect this and are finished with a cute bow.

The seating area is absolutely beautiful. It feels as if every visitor should be wearing a tiara in this fantasy like experience. The crystal decorations were a perfect touch to the peacock garden theme. Perhaps a water fountain may have added a little more to this, but the atmosphere here was just right. Even the rounded seating area is lined with plush cushions that are perfect for pillow talk.

Aside from the cutely arrange curtains, the tea cup chairs and flower chandelier were an amazing touch. I couldn’t help but think of Alice in Wonderland's tea party before sitting down. Tea parties are a social occasion and Lady7 really thinks about the finer details. The menus were adorable and even the cutlery was consistently themed.

No tea party is complete without our favourite beverages. Lady7 offers some exotic mixes and we opted for a spicy concoction of fruits including passion fruit tea and strokes of zesty lemon. The servings are generous and arrive promptly so one can enjoy their chit chat over a lovely fragrance.

The heart shape coffee was adorable and raspberry bites served in clam shell was in a sense, the icing on a fairy cake.

Everybody loves cake. Lady7 serves a wide variety of sweet deserts that are works of art. We were but a small group on this occasion and could only try a limited selection. The chocolate and coffee ice cream served with a melange of summer fruits and cream made us all call out in awe.

For those wanting a little more simplicity in their get together, a loving helping of ice cream and heart shaped chocolate cake is the way to go. One can feel a little guilty when eating these little works of art but the taste buds soon give in when tucking in to delicious desserts.

Lady7 is the perfect place for some girly catch up and caters for all occasions. I will definitely be returning here in the near future for some exotic teas and sweets.
