The Disney Visit 2!

Disney have dabbled in all kinds of media and have built an empire that spans over many different franchise. This now includes the likes of Star Wars and the majority of Marvel. They recently announced a merger with giants 21st Century Fox also with an increasing bid that edges even closer to the $100 billion mark. Crazy figures indeed but it’s no surprise to me as Disney poises itself as the television and movie company that keeps giving to the people.

Throughout the years Disney has played a key role in bringing media to the masses, they started off with silent movies and would eventually move on to debut their perhaps most famous mascot Mickey Mouse in 1928. Mickey was actually known as Mortimer Mouse and would be renamed to Mickey after Walt Disney’s wife voiced her discontent for the name Mortimer. Personally I agree with this change and I guess the rest of the world did too as the company has been on the waves of magic and success ever since.

Disney has seen many changes in times and has survived to this very day, expanding and being a giant conglomerate that just keeps going. In 1966 Walt Disney would pass away and his brother, Roy would eventually pass away in in 1971. Roy spent his years as CEO seeing out various parts of Walt’s vision. Since then Disney has been in good hands, directly under those that were trained by the brothers and it has seen the legacy continue to infinity and beyond.
