hello guys
with 2 words i will explain you a tragic story about the name of hellespont or the dardanelles..
Everything starts thousands years ago in Greece. 2 kids , phrixos and helle..children of the king Athamanta and Nefelis..
Ino was the second wife of king..she had a enormous jealousy in the face of children.
and with her slyness she persuades the king to sacrifice his first son and daughter.(phrixo and helle)...So Nefeli send the the golden fleece to fly away with the children in his back..as they were flying over the sea , helle was very tired and she couldn't stand any more..so she fell info the sea and drowned...the sea took her name hellespontos , means sea of helle..or hellespontium pelagus..or current name the Dardanelles...
thats it..mythology or not...
