Minister of Tourism (Menpar) Arief Yahya expressed his pride towards Sabang Sail event 2017. Being the biggest sail in Indonesia, Menpar hope the event can have a positive impact to the community of Sabang, Aceh Province.

In accordance with the instructions of Mr. President Joko Widodo, that sail is not only a ceremony, but it must have a positive impact on society and can prosper the people. This should happen in Sail Sabang 2017, said Minister Arief during a press conference ahead of the Sail Sabang event at CT-3 Terminal, Sabang, 30 November 2017.

Minister Arief made a rehearsal visit before the event. The original Minister of Banyuwangi was accompanied by Deputy of Tourism Marketing Development of Nusantara Esthy Reko Astuti, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Ukus Kuswara, Special Staff of Minister of Communication Don Kardono, Head of Tourism Department Reza Fahlevi and from the committee and Indonesian Naval Force.

In the review, Menpar took a look at the Dewa Ruci ship and the latest Bima Suci ship. Both ships have its own charm for the domestic and foreign tourists who are present in Sail Sabang.

This is the biggest Sabang Sail because there are three things, namely because most participants, the most spectators, and the series of events are also the most. Thus, this becomes the largest Sail Sabang event in Indonesia, said Minister Arief.

Menpar explained, why become the most, because the 9th sail in this country besides presenting two pride boats: the Milky Way and Dewa Ruci, the event which started from November 28 until December 5, 2017 was also visited by Victoria Cruise ship carrying thousands tourists and also 100 yacht ships from various countries.
