Devil's Tower in 1991
In 1991 I traveled to Colorado to rock climb. On the way back to South Carolina I took a scenic detour through Wyoming and South Dakota. I wanted to attempt climbing this rock however the forestry service was having a controlled burn and we were not allowed any closer.
I visited this somewhere in the late 80's, but it is a bit fuzzy. What I do remember is this a prominent location for the Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind movie!
Ah, I remember that movie.
