The Bridge, The B&B, and The Lighthouse

Some images from a trip we took to the Oregon Coast in June of 2018. These are from a little walk up to Heceta Head Lighthouse near where we were staying in Florence OR. It was a short walk from the parking area near the bridge up to the lighthouse.

The first view from the trail is of the snow capped Matterhorn. Or perhaps just a rock outcropping at the beach covered in guano. ;)

A quick glimpse of the Hecta Lighthouse B&B. This is the old light keepers house converted to a B&B. Both the house and the lighthouse were built around 1894. I can imagine it must have been quite a job to be manning this lighthouse back in the day. Probably a very isolated existence.

Continuing up the trail, a look back at the bridge and the beach.

Another view of the B&B and don't worry, if you stay, there is a separate driveway so you don't have to walk up from the beach. :)
