FUD On Steemit

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

If you don't live under the rock you probably read at least one post about how Steemit 2.0 from EOS platform will destroy our outdated Steemit 1.0.

Dan Larimer will supposedly launch a new better version of steemit, which is not hard BTW. For him of course. For him is just part two.

My opinion is that he will face the same and many other problems like with the original version.

Why?

He is a visionary, philosopher and scientist. Smart as hell.

But he has one but crucial weak spot.

He lives in his bubble and underestimates the human nature.

No code, protocol or blockchain will change human survival behavior. Sorry, Dan.

Human code is much stronger. Unbeatable.

Vultures will come to EOS. Sure as death.

But on the other hand;

I have a feeling like we're on the airplane with pilots fell asleep behind the wheels, including flight attendants.

Am I too harsh?

Maybe if you consider that we got a fancy new red downvote button a few days ago and all steemians were soo excited.

Seriously?

Let's spread the big news about the big update on Twitter. You'll get my upvote.

The whole crypto community is laughing and we're surprised the price of steem price and rankings are falling like a rock.

And we don't need to worry. If Steemit crashes we can't do anything anyway.

14 weeks to get the money out. No way.

Oldtimer ranting?

Nah!

Do you remember once famous steemian, Craig Grant?

I saw him cooking on YT a few days ago.

,,Go with the flow'' were his words.

Unrelated to today's topic are these photos but you can read between the lines if you wish.

Interesting times ahead.

Stay in FIAT, my friends.

Sort:

Ned can steal Dan's tech much easier than Dan can steal Ned's userbase.

Don't be so sure. Take for example steemSTEM community. They were paying 50 $ to a single post easily, but on stateofdapps they have 10 likes. Imagine that 150-450 rewarded users per week - 10 likes

Or the recent case of Utopian and Indiegogo, about 20.000 $ distributed per month, but in the campaign... They asked for 35.000 and after 2 months they've got 5.000.

Dunno about that, many of us are preparing to switch allegiances.

Have fun :)

This is true because Steem is my home.

Isn't that scumbag in prison yet?

Someone who understands people will make a better social media platform, not someone who understands code.

Dan designed this... he may have learned a few things, but he is till Dan and people are not Dan's specialty.

Spot on. I also think it needs someone who has a basic understanding of marketing, the efforts they are making to advertise Steemit now are beyond laughable and just plain embarrassing.

will the current steem power have value on steemit 2.0 ?

It will just be steemit users that will be in steemit 2.0
Now that is a hype :D

No such thing as steemit 2.0 but one thing for sure, another platform to vacate by Dan and take sum of money. He already do it twice now planning to make trice!

For 2.0 it's relatively easy to fix the main problems:

  • non-random distribution of wealth
  • subtopics with reviews (just like Trybe)
  • better UX

Steemit leaders don't believe in quality. With that premise, it was impossible to evolve.

Old FIAT 124 looks fantastic :)

Hahaha. And I just have powered up again :-)

I will eat my hat if Steemit 2 takes off. Nothing had been learned from past lessons in this space yet

For us no techs is easy to see through. Nerds waiting to connect with Stan's satellite. I can only guess who will hold the empty bag at the end.

Yeah, there will be many and suspiciously there will be the same ones walking away with many many profits.

You had it right when you said they existed in a bubble. It's why I actually think Steemit has a chance because it's been through a lot now. They will be starting from the same old tired direction
