#FlowerFriday: WILD FLOWERS AT THE UPPSALA CASTLE

in #photography6 years ago

I was visiting Uppsala in late May and took a walk to the Uppsala Castle. There I found beautiful compositions of wild flowers growing in large pots:

These pots stand by the antiquated cannons, facing the English Park. You can see the cannons (and the flower pots, if you look closely) on this photo:

And the view of the Uppsala Castle proper, to give you a better idea of what it looks like:

All of those are planted in one pot? That is awesome. Does that mean there is a bouquet of flowers all the time? Triangle seems to be a recurring shape in the property.

Yes, those plants are live and growing there at all times.

Maybe it’s owned by the Illuminati? ;) :D

That would be more interesting if it as owned by Illuminati indeed. You'll never :D

Well, a former county governor lived there. And his son, who grew up in that castle, got to be the UN Secretary General and was assassinated. A fertile ground for conspiracy theories, that place. ;)

Nice bouquet.

Thank you, Vincent!

That seems to almost be a statement. You can take cannon or some flowers but not both! Now if they only where growing the flowers in that cannon!

I’ve never quite understood pyramid shaped hedges. They look amazing I will give them that. I’m just not quite sure why that was chosen over keeping things more normal. They do at least stand out quite a fair amount. Must take a lot of upkeep to keep them that way.

I think it’s because it is the English Park and the English are famous for doing weird s**t with their garden plants! :D

Well at least they did not force any of the flowers to wear those over the top hats they love so much!
