North shore Dominican Republic lunch spot
THE GODDESS BAR
I have been traveling to the North Shore of the DR for 10 years now. I come back every North Hemisphere winter and stay for a month. The Goddess Bar is only 3 years in the making but it is by far my favorite place for a mellow hang out in the evenings. They have a pool, ocean side seating under the stars, giant swings, a huge wooden sculpture that is a see-saw, and a covered area in case it rains.
This day I went there for the first time for lunch and was pleasantly surprised!
I ordered nachos for 150 pesos ($3 USD) a burrito for 200 pesos ($4 USD) and sat and watched the waves ocean side and enjoyed a spectacular view.
delicious affordable food
the view from our seaside table
I would caution against going in the late afternoon when there tends to be a strong easterly trade wind that can literally blow your food off your plate. This afternoon we had calm seas and a light breeze. Just enough to stay cool in the afternoon sun. And we had the shade of this lovely cabana as well,... PERFECTION.
