Norwegian nature: Kleivafossen waterfall

Going on a trip to Briksdalsbreen glacier we cannot miss this fantastic spot in Briksdalen valley - really impressive waterfall on Briksdalselva river called Kleivafossen.
Briksdalen valley is situated in Jostedalsbreen National Park in middle Norway, Sogn og Fjordane county.
What is worth mentioning, Jostedalsbreen glacier is the biggest norwegian glacier AND the biggest in continental Europe! It has area of 487 km².
Waters from the melting glacier are shaping the riverbed since centuries. Waterfall in this part looks really amazing, when standing in the bottom we get a strong hit of water and wind straight to our faces, the roaring sound of water is strong enough to make the talk imposible.
I visited the place on my way to Briksdalsbreen glacier. Pictures of the glacier You could see on my previous post about melting glaciers and global warming. I was there in my last part of this year's holidays in middle July.
All the presented pictures are panoramas, some of them stitched from vertical shots, some other made in horizontal way. To catch the whole beauty of the falls it was the only way of shooting.
Whole valley leading to briksdalsbreen is covered with geological formations made by glacier's ice.
Right now all what we can see is just a small tongue of ice going down the valley from the top of the mountains.
Definitely place worth visitng, we can expect huge tourist traffic during busy summer months but if You will go there little later during evening - like me - it is not so bad! :)
