Thakur Bari (Tagore’s Home) Jorasanko - Episode #01
This is the famous “Thakur Bari (Tagore’s Home), Jorasanko “where Rabindranath Tagore was born in 7 May, 1861. This is also the place where Tagore spent most of his childhood and died on 7 August 1941.
This home was built by Maharshi Debendranath Tagore (Rabindranath’s father) in the 18th century on the land donated by the famous Sett family of Burrabazar to Prince Dwarkanath Tagore (Rabindranath Tagore’s grandfather).
I’ll post a series photographs of this place here –

Crazy! I know the literature of Tagore since I am a child but always thought he was poor ... really far from the reality as I can see now thanks to your post and photos. He was very rich!!!
