Remember that feeling of excitement you used to get as a kid when a toy catalogue arrived in the mail, or when your parents let you stroll around the sports section of your local department store while they did their shopping. That’s the same feeling I got the other day when when I walked into my local electronics store and purchased my Osmo Mobile 2.

I've wanted to get my hands on a mobile phone gimbal for a couple of years now.

Like most people, I take my mobile phone with me just about everywhere I go, and for the past few years, that’s included taking it on holidays and overseas trips. However, as mobile phone footage is notoriously shaky, it can be challenging to capture steady usable video. I'm hoping that with the addition of a gimbal that will change and I'll have an easy and inexpensive way of adding high-quality video to my travel posts.

Watch this space; I guess we’ll all find out how I go in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Good luck with the new toy! Are you going to do what seems to be the done thing now and do a review after you've been playing with it for a while? :)

I'm not a tech blogger, and DJI didn't send it to me for free, so I'm not going to feel obliged to post a review. That said, I may post a short video of my first efforts in using it and that may include a few thoughts on the device.
