Sydney City View

The city of Sydney is a great place to explore and is one of the places I have found myself to really enjoy exploring in both the daytime and night. As the Capital of New South Wales, it’s hailed as one of the larger cities within Australia. The abundance of water around the harbour area adds to the botanical landscape that is decorated by towering structures. A daily stroll outside is a great lift of fresh air and the varying architecture seen throughout the city is a very interesting outing in itself.

The City was established in the mid-1800s and the city has since seen many changes in its defined jurisdiction over the years. Interestingly, among spoken languages here one can find Chinese speakers quite easily. I enjoyed seeing a diverse range of people throughout Sydney. They say Australia is filled with opportunity and it seems people from all over the world come to establish themselves here.

While possessing great architecture throughout its structures, Sydney has consciously made changes in its environmental policies. Australia was identified as having issues with its emission levels and have since put into place a number of carbon-neutral policies. Sydney in particular have lead this movement in Australia with various certifications and efforts to move towards a carbon neutral environment. Residents are well aware of this and have been made exposed to a number of campaigns to reduce emissions. Caring for our environment is an important task indeed. It was great to see so many cyclists out here too.

Moving along the harbour area, a tall pole stands. Today the wind has picked up a little and the Australian flag is waving gently for all to see. The flag itself is described as a blue canvas accompanied by the Union Jack. It also features a number of stars that represent the Commonwealth and a constellation. Flags carry different meaning and it’s interesting to know what a national flag means, especially when travelling to its cities.

Moving away from the bridge I can still see flag waving in the distance. The water here is not polluted but I wouldn’t find myself taking a dip here. The blue sky and scattered clouds made for some great well lit snaps. The harbour itself was pretty quiet today. It can be a little busy as boats are taken out but on this particular afternoon the waters were left flowing without any disturbance.

Finally making way across the waters on a bridge I got a glimpse of the bigger boats. Catamarans are amazing and these bigger boats were mainly being used for transportation and cruising. The speedboat really made me want to get out on to the water that day.
