House Finches looking for bugs

Seeing this bird with a red head I was unsure of what it was at first. After searching online I think its a male house finch. I do not recall seeing this bird in the past, so its probably not too common. Its small and looks pretty basic besides that red head, that really sticks out.

Eventually looks like a female house finch showed up to search for some food as well, along side with the male. If I did not see that interestingly colored male I would have assumed its a Sparrow. The females are around that size and have the same look to me. Though maybe there are some subtle differences I did not notice.

I saw them seemly look at each other for awhile, and kept searching the grass for bugs. With recent rains it will flood the grass and bring up worms and other bugs for the birds to eat.

The birds did not appear to find anything, though its hard to tell for sure. Cool to see new birds I have not seen before. And glad I was able to figure out which kind, we have so many in Georgia its hard to keep track.
