Good Morning to all!

Tell me about the battles and shows of the time.

"It was intense, man.

It was intense for a while.

The top group was Furious Five, no doubt… But Furious Five was on tour. They were out of town, so we were competing for that place, you know, that main place in New York City". Grandmaster Caz

"The Fantastic and the Cold Crush were undoubtedly the main street rivals in the Bronx at the time". Charlie Ahearn

"We were trying to be like the Jackson 5 with dance moves, harmonization. We got to the point of being so popular with women, that we became the Fantastic Romantic 5". Grand Wizzard Theodore

"When we joined, we practiced a year at my house every day before we went out and did something.

We merged very well, like when you say: [I know someone and I could even finish their sentences].

We were finishing each other’s sentences.

Our rivalry with the Fantastic has reached its peak.

We had a battle in Harlem World.

It was epic moves". Grandmaster Caz

"Tensions were breaking out

They took it very, very, very seriously.

They were fighting a thousand dollars that night.

The place filled its capacity.

There were people from the Cold Crush Brothers. There were people from the Fantastic 5.

The owner said: [All right, folks. It’s a thousand dollars. The winner gets it. But, if you want, I can give 700 to the winner and 300 to the loser. What do you want to do? ].

They all looked at each other.

Fuck it. All for the winner, man". Grand Wizzard Theodore

"We filled the room, so to speak.

We brought fans of Cold Crush from all over. Grand Wizzard Theodore and the Fantastic 5 filled the site with their people. These battles were won with the participation of the public, who shouted and clapped loudest on". Joe Conzo

"Everything depended on us on stage or Cold Crush, and I won the best show.

We had routines, dance steps. We were untouchable". Grand Wizzard Theodore

"The important thing with Cold Crush and Fantastic was how creative you were.

What is your approach?

You can’t predict what someone will do in battle.

If your rhythm was effective with the audience, it didn’t matter that it was bad". Kool Moe Dee

"The important thing was the show.

They were the cute guys.

They had more in mind than just being talented.

They looked good there. The girls loved it, so you could hear a lot of screaming from most of the girls. When you heard shouting for us, it was the guys". Grandmaster Caz

"At the end of the night... Fantastic 5, we made it, man". Grand Wizzard Theodore

"We lost, all right?

That night we lost.

From that day on, we won.

Everything changed after that because they won the battle that night, but people started listening to the tapes... it was: [Wait, wait. How did they win? ].

It was all so fast, you know what I mean?

The girls at the front were screaming and stuff. You understand?

They did their thing, but the recording told the real story". Grandmaster Caz

In the next post I will continue with this, thanks for the attention.
