The Vaci Street, in Budapest, is a Great Neighbourhood to Stay In

When I was in Budapest, I wasn't very lucky with the weather so this is a city I feel like I need to revisit. My visit was a bit rushed, since my main goal was to visit Slovakia...

However, I liked the hotel location very much, as it was right in the center of everything. I could walk to the main attractions from there and the neighbourhood was very lively but never noisy.

Just a few steps away, there was a pedestrian street called Vaci Ulica, with some gorgeous buildings and buzzing commerce.

Here, you can find a lot of shops and wide variety of restaurants, serving anything from local traditional cuisine to Italian, French and even Turkish Kebab... there is a lot of choice at this place. And the best of all, no cars, motorcycles or any other annoying vehicles.

The above photos were taken at the intersection of Vaci Ulica and Szerb Ulica and the church you can see at a distance, between the buildings is the Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church, a very cute little church with a lovely mural in the corner of the wall.

Here's a close up shot of that mural, depicting Saint George killing a Dragon. This is ancient street art, if you ask me. 🙃

Sadly, the church was closed at the time and I couldn't get in... maybe next time. 2 days is definitely not enough to see this great city. I'd say, at least 5 days are needed to get a good feeling of this city.
