My hike to Platak - Snežnik, Croatia

Hello everyone !

I wanted to share a few pictures from one of my recent hikes near Rijeka, Croatia.
Rijeka is located in beautiful Istria and is the third largest city in Croatia. It is famous for frequent rains which is especially good for surrounding forests and greenery (unlike Dalmatia).

This short hike starts off with a slow and tedious climb (which can be done by a car) to a mountain hut "Platak" which is named after the hill itself. Although the hike to the top and back can be achieved in one day, I decided to take it slowly so I set up a tent at a nearby campsite for later on.

Accomodation for the night:

The rest of the hike to the top is ridiculously beautiful. You are constantly surrounded by a huge forest full of (mostly friendly) wildlife. I unfortunately lost some pictures due to a corrupted folder but anyways... Nearing the top, the climb becomes much steeper and all of the sudden you find yourself emerge from this huge sea of green. Everywhere you look all you can see is forest and in the distance a little bit of Adriatic sea. These are some of my favourite photos.
