What you should know about Zoos: most are started as a private collection of someone. Later the idea came to make money out of it to let people pay for a visit.
A Zoo is not created to teach people or children about animal life at all. These animals don't live in the habitat where they belong and show behaviour that is abnormal.

So people/kids get a wrong idea about the kind of animal they meet.

Cities have parks and in.parks you find all kind of birds and other animals.

Some cities have a city farm which you can visit (with us its for free) and meet the animals who live on a farm, including the wild ones (birds of prey, snakes, etc).

If you want your child to meet different animals you can travel a bit further as well or save for a safari abroad.

A Zoo to educate children about animals not belonging in our country I find nonsense. The great thing is most have t.v. and internet.

You cannot start a Zoo about everything you do not have because you live in the city and need to meet it all life.

I worked in Zoos and these are not the most animal friendly places, young life is an attraction but if the season is over and they cannot get rid of the animals they feed them to the lions.

Human Zoos are history, circuses with animals are in many countries too, so let us stop this too.
Its cruel and if it comes to it many people are not even animal friendly and bully the animals.

Nature should be respected.
