To live, you need the sun, freedom and a small flower. The world of flowers is mysterious and beautiful. Thousands of types of them still adorn our planet, and flower festivals were the brightest manifestation of love for them for different nations. Recently, many flowers of our meadows and forests are listed in the Red Book, in the alarming list of protected plants. But the ban in itself does not give anything unless people understand that without flowers, forests and greenery they are doomed to extinction. By protecting nature, we protect the health and well-being of those who come after us. By preserving the plants, we will save ourselves, because only in harmony with nature is our existence possible.

The steppe zone is characterized by a flat landscape and a complete lack of trees. Therefore, the flora is represented mainly by herbs. In the temperate zone of Eurasia, grasses (varieties of feather grass, bluegrass, wheatgrass, legumes) and bulbous plants grow. Sometimes bushes are found. A thick layer of turf formed by the interweaving of rhizomes of herbs, as well as the duration of dry periods and the absence of moisture, prevent the germination of tree seeds.

Steppes - the main value for which the reserve was created. The steppes represented on its territory belong to the north or meadow. This means that they are located on the northern limit of the spread of steppe vegetation.

At the beginning of the last century, the steppe had a pronounced nature. Herbage plants were dicotyledonous plants, both in terms of aspect and number of species, and with weight in hay. Herbs also played a very large, but less noticeable role in adding grass. Among the grasses, the prevalence of species with more or less wide leaves was noted, as well as the prevalence of rhizomatous and reklostny types, to name the steppes of the northern steppe “color grasses with broad-leaved grains”.

Steppes are open spaces where strong winds often blow. In such conditions, the spread of fruits and seeds with the help of the wind is the most successful way to conquer new territories. In the forest-steppe zone, open areas of grass vegetation are combined with forests, with thickets of shrubs that prevent the removal of settlements of steppe plants, and among them there are not many species whose fruits are equipped with an effective flight device.
