EN: We have moved on to Khao Lak and were initially shocked by the mass tourism. On the beach, Luxury Resort joins luxury resort. The prices for overnight stays are accordingly high, although there are bargains to be made here and there. After the tsunami (2004) the little dreamy hippie bars were not opened anymore. Major investors built said resorts for well-heeled tourists from all over the world. Fortunately, here and there you can still find the beach bars with flair, only they are mostly not on the beach any longer. A more balanced ratio would be desirable.

DE: Wir sind mittlerweile nach Khao Lak weitergezogen und waren zunächst etwas über den Massentourismus schockiert. Am Strand reiht sich Luxus Resort an Luxus Resort. Die Preise für Übernachtungen sind dementsprechend hoch, obwohl hier und da noch Schnäppchen zu machen sind. Nach dem Tsunami (2004) sind die kleinen verträumten Hippie Bars nicht mehr eröffnet worden. Großinvestoren errichteten besagte Resorts für gut betuchte Touristen aus aller Welt. Glücklicherweise findet man hier und da noch die Strandbars mit Flair, nur sind sie eben weitestgehend nicht mehr am Strand mehr zu finden. Ein ausgewogeneres Verhältnis wäre doch wirklich wünschenswert.
