Preparing for take off

Notice how the helicopter rotor blades droop down when they are standing still while parked.

They then start to flatten out as they rotate faster and faster.

At full speed they are totally horizontal (see the parked one behind for comparison).

Nice photographs..of the helicopter... this is the first time I came to know that the blades droop down when it's not flying.. thanks for sharing..

I think the rotor blades of helicopter drop down due to their flexibility, when they rotate fast they become straight and help helicopter to go upward.
