At my landscaping job I often work for hours, independently, in beautiful settings. This gives my mind plenty of space for playful imagination and learning. Podcasts are a vehicle that I use to open myself to new possibilities and ways of thinking. Allow me to share with you some of my favorite journeys.

The Joe Rogan Experience #1035 - Paul Stamets

Joe Rogan might not be for everyone, but his podcast is at the top of the charts for a reason. He makes his conversations fun and informative and always has fascinating guests. In this episode he interviews fungi ambassador and heroic disruptor Paul Stamets. In a truly mind expanding conversation, Paul gives us a glimpse into the deep connectedness and wisdom of the natural world.

Bulletproof Radio #458 Eat Dirt: The Secret To a Healthy Microbiome – Zach Bush

I appreciate Dave Asprey and the biohacking community for being willing to challenge the medical status quo and spreading knowledge that can help us be the best version of ourselves. In this episode they discuss cutting edge science that connects healthy, diverse soil ecology with optimal energy flow within our cells. This episode goes well with the Paul Stamets episode above to solidify the importance of mature, healthy ecosystems.

A New and Ancient Story - Helena Norberg-Hodge (Episode 21)

This conversation explores needed systemic changes with ideas that are contrarian to both the status quo and the popular green movement. A thoughtful challenge to the narratives of our time.

The Survival Podcast - Episode-1879- Remembering Bill Mollison

A tribute to the founder of the permaculture movement. This episode highlights Bill Mollison’s subversive vision for permaculture that would make blockchain advocates proud. Includes an obituary from Diego Footer’s Permaculture Voices Podcast (now called Creative Destruction).

Rewild Yourself #101 - Are you Kinesthetically Literate? with Tom Myers (audio)

A conversation that explores our understanding of our bodies' structure, how it can adapt, and the meaning of life.

The After On Podcast Ep.17 - The Past Present & Future of Cryptocurrency

This conversation with Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam gives a broad overview of the cryptocurrency space and where it might be heading.

<iframe width="650" height="366" src="

" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A discussion of the fake news meme with the author of an often-cited study on the subject. How the mainstream media takes things and distorts them for maximum inflammatory response.

Peak Prosperity's Featured Voices - Patrick Byrne: Why Cryptocurrencies Matter - July 30, 2017

<iframe width="650" height="366" src="

" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
A powerful conversation about the place of cryptocurrencies in our lives and why blockchain technology matters. Most on Steemit don’t need convincing in this area, but this is an interesting perspective from the CEO of Overstock.com

The Waking Up Podcast - #94 - The Future of Intelligence with MIT professor Max Tegmark (audio)

Discussing the state of AI and the ethical decisions that surround it. “The most important conversation of our time”.

The Waking Up Podcast - #71 - What is Technology Doing to Us? with Tristan Harris (audio)

This conversation with a tech insider will bring some awareness to how we are being manipulated through our interactions with technology.

Bulletproof Radio #318 - Why We Need to KO the GMO with Don Huber

<iframe width="500" height="281" src="

The Joe Rogan Experience #1041 - Dan Carlin

<iframe width="790" height="444" src="

" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Dan Carlin is the host of the Hardcore History podcast and a political podcast called Common Sense.  This is a wide ranging conversation generally about the state of the world.  I always find Dan's perspective refreshing.

I've realized that these podcasts are all pretty geeky and rational. I think I'll make a point of featuring podcasts that are more artistic and fun in a later post.
