What if?

What is man without Beasts?
And what are beasts without man?
What is man without flowers?
And what are flowers without man?
What if the hills and the lakes are gone?
And the sun in the day and the stars in night?
What is man if they all are gone?
What if the land is all barren?
What if the sky holds no water?
What if the fish die because the sea lay dry?
What if everything perishes except man?
Someday I know this may happen.
Someday I will know,
What is man without nature!

@ImranSoudagar

This poem was inspired by the Letter written by Chief Seattle to the American President Franklin Pierce. The letter is legendary and it has moved hundreds of hearts since it was written way back in 1855.

The letter was part of my Undergraduate curriculum and my professor who read it to us explained it in such a way that the message has stayed with me even today.

Read the complete letter written by Chief Seattle to the then American President Franklin Pierce in 1855.
