KATAGA
Sa lahat ng anak ng Sariling WIKA,
Ako ang tila ba my buhay na Wala;
Di man pangungusap, at hindi salita,
Ay may katuturan, wala lamang diwa.
Parang bayang munti man may karinla'y
Wala namang laya at kapangyqrihan;
Laging may tungkuli'y walang karapatang
Tumayong mag-isa nang walang sandigan.
Sa una ng aklat, ang "ILANG KATAGA",
Siyang karaniwang bukas ng may-akda.
"ILANG KATAGA", ang huling pandayan
At pananalumpati sa yamot nang madla.
Bago, kadalasa'y lalong mahaba pa
Ang pagsasabihin kaysa nasabi na:
Ang may-akda Naman ay nagpapauna
Ng tapal sa sugat, nang hindi mapuna.
