A Dark Sea
I’m as free as a butterfly,
but sometimes I feel like I’d rather die.
Can someone tell me why?
I’m aware of the beauty this world holds,
yet I can’t help but feel cold.
And yes, this feeling does get old.
I have a family that loves me
and friends who are as sweet as can be,
but I’m still drowning in the sea.
I’ll never be saved
even if a path to safety has been engraved
because it is to darkness that I am enslaved.
