"What If We Start Again" - A Writing Impact Anthology
We've lived a lifetime and nothing ever changes
We keep at it even though we know where the road leads
Can't we just do something different this time?
Like to start afresh this poetry with new rhymes
Life throws at us limited options to pick from
How so we let our reasoning sway with the raging storm
What if we start again and things fall in place
Or will it be the same replay like other days?
ADURAGBEMI
The rhymes from the new & old poetry are sore
Earmarked on plain surfaces not the core
To draw undivided attention to the scenic of the weak flow
About our progressive train that's obsolete & slow
Can we start again and be who we were at first
And fulfil the purpose of who we are right now?
Maybe we are part of transformational agents unaware
And we start over day after day without knowing of the actions.
MAFLEX
Sadly we keep following the deficient trend
The trend obviously leading us nowhere
What if we create a better landmark?
Bringing out the potentials we think we lack
Refining those ideas hired from the past
Making the difference we all desire
What if we start again this instant
And set all these things straight?
TRACYLINA
Though we rally under the blue sky
But why are we losing to blues?
With a scare on the cross, we seem startled like a scarecrow
Yet we possess talents capable of causing us a glow.
What if we return to the time when we're fearless?
When to start again, we won't have cared less
What if we rekindle the dying fire of unity among us?
And reactivate the constructive power of teamwork.
OLUWASHINAAYOMI
Thinking about a time when I was a little child
So outrageous and bubbly doing things that are wild
Thinking about us, those wonderful years
Not a care in the world, no worries, no fears
With what life tender before us everyday
Is it possible that we start again?
Can there be gain when there is no pain?
Hopes for the future is coming alive. So what if we start all over, will situation remain unchanged?
