Sky Falls [Photos+Poetry]
Mountains far off murmur
Eternal guardians of Earth
Steel structures restrict senses
Vast spaces illicit visions
Anticipation steals moments away
Time, a fickle thief
Nature takes no notice
Weeks, days, years: weatherproof
Rainfall washes the righteous
Freefalling torrents over fixtures
Release your bounteous reserves
Free and let fly
Wash me clean
Make us whole
These words came to me while looking up at the sky out walking my dog. Inspiration can strike at any moment, even in the mundane everyday. The sky can point the way to something greater than ourselves. It's always watching and waiting.
Just look up.
I'm by no means a poet and mostly focus on improving my fiction writing, though there does seem to be some overlap with poetry and fiction. I hope you enjoyed this little piece.
