with a tone better suited
to an indian harassing you with nudes.

not thinking i'm just being a poet
when i tell you how sometimes
i feel like a face without a nose.

the little things, like you
not making me feel like a fool
for once thinking you knew better
than the wisdom i found in books.

the little things, so trivial
you might call them childish
but which tightens the knot
that now bounds our situationship.

but that you always overlook
because you're a one track album
on my playlist of unrequited love.
