Fever of Light (poem of my authorship dedicated to Armando Reverón, Painter and Venezuelan Plastic Artist)

Armando Reverón is considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century in Latin America, deserving of important distinctions, among them: Medal in the International Exhibition of Paris (1937) and National Painting Prize of Venezuela (1953).

He was a forerunner of Modern Art.

This poem is a humble tribute that summarizes the life and work of this great artist, known as "The Painter of Light".

Fever of Light

Reverón,
Humility, ingenuity and simplicity.
A boy man
That in his art he recovers his childhood.

Fever that a day of childhood
It almost takes you from this world,
They say you healed.

Life Fever,
Fever of Knowledge.

Juanita partner,
Inseparable and unconditional,
Juanita without last name
Juanita de Reverón.

This woman was his
Yours in your paintings,
Yours in every brushstroke
Fever of love.

"El Castillete" its dwelling
Workshop, temple and refuge
Detached from the material
Living with the elemental.

Lilies and devout carnations
Adorn your chapel
Fever and devotion.

Of mysterious and dreamy blues
To the luminous targets,
Monochrome in absolute white
The Painter of Light.

Far away the city,
Near the sea your heart
Deep connection with nature
Navigating inside,
Find inspiration
Sun, dazzling light
Internal tribulations
Chaos, anguish, dementia?
Are not we the demented?

Del Sepia
To your magical theatrical universe of dolls
Delirious fever

Artist to the end.

A fever that one day started,
A fever that surfaced
A fantastic inner world
A fever that healed
The day your Light went out.
