Let's Read Poetry # 32: Crazy Horse
Crazy horse
Hourly horse,
Horse my men
And mind their means.
Crazy horse
Hasty hour,
Jumping higher
Above my head.
Crazy horse
High jump horse,
Hot the legs
And lead the head.
My Analysis
The poem seems to criticize a society in hot pursuit of means or wealth. It seems to criticize ambition or over-ambition.
The main purpose of the poem remains more in the mind of the poet rather than in the power of the words of the poem. The poet has therefore, not quite achieved his objective or purpose because of the scanty nature of information.
A short poem of three stanzas. There are four short stanzas of two run-on lines in each stanza- a style the poet carefully maintains through the short poem. This style helps the poem to make meaning.
