Alex Trebek grew a beard and it caused, news outlets to push wacky tales,
Like saying it’ll “divide this great nation” - sure, it’s joke, but it fails.
When we think of real news that’s not printed, this waste of space tells a lot.
Alex suggested that he’ll be retiring; did his beard come from shaves he forgot?
It looks like the press has finally decided, to stop shaming Geoffrey Owens for his gig.
Headlines on him don’t use the word “shamed” now, ‘cause they want a new angle that's big.
It appears that they’ll now push the reasons, why the actor needed employment.
So their shaming continues, less obviously - which makes for more Spigot enjoyment.
What happens if your wife is a co-host, of a show that spews gossip nonstop,
And you were the guy on top at the network, and fired over the latest news drop?
You’d make her stay home, naturally, even though it’s the season premier.
The question now, is how long she won’t show up; it’s embarrassing, that much is clear.
