Musings in Storms

My poetry is merely a body.
You are the soul in my words.

I obsess over endings,
Empty passions—
And nightly reverberations.

Rain is my inside
Turned out—
My interior landscape.

Sometimes at night
I roll over
And look for you—

But then I remember—

You’re locked
In my dreams,
Safe,
Where no one
Can hurt you.

But you hurt me, Love—

I forgave you my scars
Tried to heal from wounds
And forget the past..

But you hurt me, Love,
And it’s so damn hard
To forget that.

Expectations and attachments ... they should come with warning labels. A powerful write, John:)
