COASTING HOME (An Original Poetry)

We're serpents stranded,
in the harshness of noon,
strayed out midnight's comfort
in a quest stray home
to a place warm and sweet to the feet,
perils are like potholes
barbwires hidden in barbies,
pitfalls surrounding the lonely lanes,
like crown corks and pitchfork
on a lonely dark alley

Coasting home like wanderers,
as saddened conquerors,
trophyless, defeated by forlorn ego,
we're pacing effortlessly,
but the destination is farther,
elongated in the mind,
but our hubris is like haze,
keeping us in life's maze.

---

We've been too long a stranger,
on treacherous roads,
filled with viper and venom,
barricades in the mind,
clouding the very perception,
the eyes is blinder than a bat,
lost from the tarred road
into many many miry path

---

We're Coasting home,
to the comfort of our coffins,
less muffins, more stopping,
on a road filled with cut-throats,
upturned voyages, lost sailors
on abandoned Islands,
it's like the beginning of an end,
the life we live is shorter than a blink,
so sweet smiles and beams
is what keeps us throbbing
while we wearily slitter home
