THE HEART'S MEDAL 🏅 (An Original Poetry)
Image Credit; the heart is a king 🏅 👑💎
Trodden like mashed marshmallows
lost in love's tempest
and sunken in everyday's regret
like a gloomy day bereft of sunset
the heart craves a medal,
a testament to it's longevity,
many many more times,
it's been taunted, left in shambles
breaking like biscuits
when tears are flooding like lotion
The heart craves a medal,
for housing cupid's arrows,
many nights, sorrow is king
and regret rules the soul
the heart is but a fulcrum
an unsung heroe lurking within
upraised for it's gallantry
keep the spirits and body in unison
when love comes like a hungry whale
to devour happiness
The heart craves a medal,
bashed in life's Colosseum,
fighting funny feelings
entrenched by the eye's greediness
it's tethers are loose as a whore,
hanging onto life like oxygen to the nostrils
taking irrelevancies blows
reacting to memories,
and suffering several cruxifications
The heart craves a medal,
a befitting sword of honour,
crust, golden as the yellow evenings,
in far away Nebraska,
half dead but half beating,
tainted in grief, but thumping in relief
she's punctured in a zillion places,
leaking regret like water
the heart will get a medal,
