ODE TO THE SEASON(s) | A POEM

SOURCE
So it is you,
the great magician who,
cloaked in death, dark and daunting,
persuaded the fallen fighters to fall in line.

You who,
robed in autumn, giddy and gold,
commanded the lifeless leaves to fall from
the tree;

Then,
masked in winter, white and wet,
you convinced the crying clouds to fall as
a thin liquid.

Still you,
seemed in summer, serene and sunny,
who summoned the sullen saints to fall
from grace.

And finally, adorned in hearts, high and haughty,
it was you, who, at the same time, convinced
the damsel and the devil—who had both fallen
before, painfully—to fall again.

It was you, the devil in lust.
You, the damsel in love.
