Soulless Eyes
The girl with the soulless eyes sees only despair.
Sorrow seems to haunt her like a ghost from the past.
There is such sadness in those black eyes of hers.
It is as if light itself cannot be reflected it just gets absorbed.
When she stares at you she looks through you not at you.
It almost feels like she knows you or is reading your mind.
I have never heard her laugh or seen her smile.
Her expression is expressionless a veil without a veil.
She carries an air of loneliness you can almost touch.
Yet she makes no contact not even with her eyes.
Like some empty vessel that passes in the night.
Always looking straight ahead but not seeing a thing.
Wrapped up in her own little world it's as if she doesn't care.
But who am I to say what crosses her mind.
She might see the future through those soulless eyes.
I guess somethings that you see are best kept to yourself.
