Pink morning slides across the mountain
With the memory of terrible language
Leaving me tongue tied
Yet your words
Scuttle like silver spiders across my eardrum
So shout “Hallelujah”
At dawn’s recovery from the sticky night
And let words nestle
Like nested blue jays
As hot as the humid skies
Press down on human hearts
In the end of the summer heat
Praise the Lord !
