desire is not enough to create

blank page, blank stare
mind falling into nowhere
this is how the world begins
liquid light to bend and stretch
reaching the eyes like angels
psalms humming of their wings
afar from unhallowed ground

for all is lost, everything gone,
desire is not enough to create
but it is enough to destruct
not by war, not fire, not blood
but by itself, insatiable want
yearning for ever more stretching
flailing, heavy makeshift wings
