Diwali Again!

It's Diwali again,
The time when we tune out the
Terrified cry of stray dogs although
We're animal lovers for the rest of the year.

It's Diwali again,
The time of family togetherness
Although we never eat dinner together
For the rest of the year.

It's Diwali again,
The festival of joy, the festival of lights,
So why does the atmosphere seen very heavy with pain,
Why do we see darkness even with the million twinkling lamps?

It's Diwali again. Another year passes by!
