Ink
draw me a picture
with thick curving lines
write my name along the border
in lettering so fine
add a splash of color
so it can be seen in the dark
embed it underneath my skin
on the left to replace my heart
that crystallized and shattered
under the pressure of my sins
take me now
make an example of me
take me now
listen to the swell of cheers
as i fall from the edge
i didn’t know was there
color the lines on my arm
in a brilliant shade of red
use a good toner on my face
that blocks the violent light in my head
dust me with a powder
to kill the glare
of the judging eyes upon me
shade me with charcoal oh so gray
that i blend into the shadows
and pretend i’m here to stay
take me now
make an example of me
take me now
listen to the swell of cheers
as i fall from the edge
i didn’t know was there

these stanzas really struck a cord with me. Beautiful poem. The image fits the poem like a glove. ;-)
:) Thanks!
love your poetry, your way with words x
Thank you so much!
I love this poem especially this part:
So real. Also, just like your other works you're always able to produce the perfect way to end the piece.
:) Thank you.
