SENSELESS AMBITIONS
of a drum that lies beyond us.
Know we this drummer that lead us?
That bonds us in slavery to time.
Our lives a flurry of scurrying,
We fear deadlines - more than death,
all pursuing meaningless pursuits.
de-void of substance and meaning -
that serves our pride - but not our joy.
Our tower of flatness grows steadily.
We desire more than our needs! Why?
Seeking enough for multiple lives, but
losing the life we have in the process...
Perhaps we’re chasing senseless ambitions.

For the long time I haven't read anything so powerful and true for my inner self. Thank you.
My apologies for the delayed response, I was in the process of responding and try and I do respond to all comments in the soonest possible time. I sometimes get sidetracked on Steemit and before I realise it a day or two has passed.

Sometimes I think I fight for it (also partly with myself) to find myself and follow my beliefs and desires. But I hope I can win and live my life best way I can 👍

Not enough brave, not enough honest. Only few can ignore those drums and catch some eagle to fly. At least to try and not to give up. Life is about being alive, not about chains and fear.

I fully agree, we sometimes lack the capacity to do the things we beleive are the right thing to do. I can see from your post that you live life on your own terms.
