There is no need (a poem)
there is no need for you
to tailor yourself
to the expectations of others.
The sea does not stop its waves
to appease those who cannot swim.
Softening
Diluting
Watering yourself down
won’t help you attract bees
to your honey,
in fact it stops you from finding
the one who can swallow you
even if you were spicy like red chillies
on a sunday afternoon at 2.
So, go ahead
Be spicy
Be a choppy sea
Swing at their tongues.
Carry their bodies back to shore.
Those who cannot take your fire
or your tempest
will never deserve
your sweetness
or calm waters.

Remember this
the world is growing inside of you
for you hold life as it folds you

know not the quintessential meaning
