It's always ironic how most gun control reform passes under Conservatives. The major Californian gun control reform that started the discussion about open carry? Ronald Reagan. Michigan's crackdown on closed carry licenses? Passed by Republican legislatures.

Gun control gets passed with ease under Republican control because it disproportionately affects people of color. California laws? Was used to remove weapons of colored communities' community watch groups. Michigan and New York gun control is used to and frisk citizens of weapons under the guise of certifying concealed weapon permits.

A full analysis of ten years of ATF stings done in the mid 2000s found that 91% of people arrested were people of color.
