Saudi Arabia, Trump, and American Party Based Delusion

*** Content Warning: Discussion fo Murder and US Politics**

The situation with the reporter killed in Saudi Arabia is horrifying and frustrating in so many ways.

First, there is the nature of how it happened (if you don't know already, I wouldn't suggest googling it).

Secondly, is the politicized nature of the reaction.

Everyone is absolutely positively convinced that Trump is an evil awful person worse than any other president in existence because of this.

I do think he is horrible and awful, but people are lying to themselves.

The exact same bullshit has gone on under every president that has stood the office during my lifetime.

Saudi Arabia has been lead by murderers and assholes as long as I have lived. And as long as I have lived, whichever president has been in power has been right there to defend them, no matter what their crime was.

They killed an American resident, and Trump didn't show signs of freaking out over it.

I hate to say this, but in 2001 they killed about three thousand Americans, and the president at THAT time promptly ran off to kill their enemies for them.

When Saudi Arabia was elevated to the head of the UN Human Rights counsel, it was the US that pushed for it. WE (in the collective sense) made that happen. Obama was president of the US at the time.

Yes, this event is horrible and awful.

No, Trump isn't doing anything out of character or unexpected for a US President. He is doing what his party expects of him, and what tradition to this point indicates he is expected to do.

He's letting it happen and covering for them.

It's fucked up. It's fucked up beyond belief. It's not new. All these people who are all up in arms JUSTS because Trump is president infuriate me. They are proving to me that those who consider themselves Liberals will act exactly the way that those who call themselves Conservatives will, and as soon as a Democrat takes office they won't give a fuck anymore.

It's not Trump. It's the US. It's not a problem that simply electing new leaders will solve. It's been like this all along.

The problem is that no one wants to see what happens when their party is in office because we don't give a fuck about governance. It's one great big massive football game complete with cheerleaders and over-payed sportsmen.

The difference is that the over-payed sportsmen are passionless dinosaurs that only care about the grift and not the game.
