Is Money Politics Dangerous?

First, Money Politics Lowers People's Dignity. The voice and dignity of the people are judged by food or money that is actually worth nothing compared to what will be obtained for 5 years the candidate occupies a seat that has been captured in this way.

It is certain, based on existing experience, that the candidate when elected by the people who have been paid, will be busy serving for 5 years serving all the interests and wishes of the conglomerate because he is the one who donates to the candidate.

Third, Money Politics Turns Off Political Cadreation. Political regeneration will die completely if there is Money Politics in the Election. The candidate feels that he is not burdened to the voters because he will regard his success as something that has been bought from the people during a vote-buying transaction. as a consequence the candidate will be busy maintaining his power in that position and will continue to advance as a candidate in the next period.

Political resources and funds collected will be used for self-interest from period to period. This is where the death of regeneration occurs because the candidate will not willingly give up his power because there are no cadres he has prepared. There is a lot of evidence, it can be found in various regions where a legislative member stays in that position until old age, even dies in the position as an active legislative member.

Fourth, Money Politics Will End in Corruption. Corruption that is rampant is a form of misappropriation of the Regional Budget where there is cooperation between the executive and legislative branches. Legislative presence with the function of control or supervision does not function optimally.

Fifth, Money Politics Kills Community Transformation. The transformation or change of a society in a better direction will be hampered, even die if the democratic process is dominated by Money Politics. Change that is dreamed clearly will not be achieved because the candidate, when winning, will spend all his energy to return all the losses that have been incurred during the campaign, mainly losses incurred due to buying and selling votes in the framework of Money Politics. The candidate will not really feel burdened because he thinks that he has bought the votes and the deterioration of society is not his business.
