The Kids also Cry

In our bid to come to terms with the actions of Child Protective Services and their affiliates round the World, we often align with the most conspicuous victims – The Parents. Many of them are left devastated, hurt, confused, broken… I could go on, but you get the picture – and seek solace in the few places where they will find comfort. It is a really trying period for most parents, as you can almost see their sorrow when they speak, like it was a living creature. For the parents who have the will, they keep fighting, fighting for their kids and frankly, their own Sanity. Others give up after a while, never the same from the ‘interventions’ of these bodies.

To an extent the reactions of Parents affected are predictable, measurable and above all visible. What isn’t exactly clear however, is how the kids react. A lot of them are so young that the confusion thoroughly overwhelms them the minute they are ‘taken’ or more appropriately, KIDNAPPED from their parents. For many, reactions do not come immediately; instead they are spread over a lifetime as many grow up to a life of reactions.

I wrote about a research on the effects of these ‘Interventions’ on the kids some days back, led by Dr Laura Van Duin of the University of Amsterdam. What was obvious about that paper, was that for most kids the effects are delayed from the time they are taken, and are instead spread over a long and harrowing period of time, leading to long-tem detrimental behaviors or traits. It becomes a vicious circle when some of these kids never recover and end up as vices to the society.

I have a whole lot of things to say but I like keeping my articles short, so that the point sticks. To think Kids forcefully taken from their parents do not have a voice is to make a grave mistake; because sooner or later that voice speaks – and whether it’s a melody or a vicious roar is up to us.

#End CPS.
