The Difference Between Highly Paid John Oliver and A Struggling Jimmy Dore!

The below YouYube clip about Venezuela is very telling and very profound. It is profound because it is from a video like this where a viewer can get a sense of truth about today's dog-eat-dog world of politics. It is telling because it is the truth!

Most folks think of comedian John Oliver as a "liberal" Democrat supportive of the likes of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelsoi, Chuck Schumer and current DNC chair Tom Perez. Oliver is considered a loyal foot soldier for the Democrats who uses his mastery over humor to take down the Trumpeteers, et. al.

Most of those who watch, follow and adore Oliver are good and solid Democrats, many of whom consider their own viewpoints rather progressive. So, to them, watching John Oliver is like a breath of fresh air.

But we're talking oil here, folks. We're also talking about banking! We're fundamentally talking about real Venezuelan socialism vs. America's unfettered brand of capitalism, i.e., John Oliver's yearly salaries, bonuses and special perks.

My purpose in writing here is not to get into the specifics of Venezuela. Rather my purpose is to show you how a presumably perceived good Democrat can actually be a bad one. A Republican, really. John Oliver, case in point!

The sad part is that since the Clintons took over the Democratic Party the Democrats have become Republicans, with the principles of labor and peace from George McGovern completely abandoned.

The late Gore Vidal described it best: America has two political parties with one right wing.

If the 2016 presidential election didn't prove much of this for you, perhaps a solid review of the debunking critique of John Oliver’s obvious attempt to politically indoctrinate supposedly solid Democrats might help you realize Gore Vidal’s statement is right on the mark.

Venezuela -- like Iraq, Libya and Syria -- abandoned the US petro dollar. This is significant because Venezuela holds the largest oil reserves in the world and has nationalized its oil industry thus depriving the Dick Cheney-like types on the world markets.

Perhaps the only thing that so far has saved Venezuela from a full scale US invasion has been the US being bogged down predominately killing in the Middle East via its use of several proxy army and rebel units coupled with large scale funding support from Saudi Arabia and Gulf Emirate nations.

But the US, via its drug war commando specialists in Colombia and elsewhere, also have proxy soldiers ready and nearby Venezuela. The day may well come, especially if Trump determines he needs become a "war president" for his re-election -- an act the US oligarchy will certainly support (also the oligarchy-supporting Democrats behind the scenes).

It's time for many of you to realize Gore Vidal was and is correct. Consider also how a once-widely respected progressive writer like David Corn, with a considerably larger salary these days, now describes the Russian "government" as the Russian "regime." Corn never used to write like that! What happened to once proud progressives Howard Dean, Barney Frank and others?

Conclusion? The Democrats ain't what they're supposed to be! Clinton still controls the DNC and all of the large state Democratic committees ... as well as the money Democrats get. This is part of why Venezuela -- as proven by John Oliver -- like Honduras, will ultimately get a raw deal!
