The View

Brian Flood of Fox News recently posted the article ‘The View’ host Sunny Hostin says Trump could lie about a terror attack: ‘I would not put that past him’ covering a discussion on The View on the new presidential system to alert cell phone users of a natural disaster or terrorist attack. Mr. Flood referred to The View as an ABC News presentation, which shocked me that The View would be considered news, but ABC refers to it as simply a show.

While complaining about his poor phone and Twitter etiquette, Whoopi Goldberg indicated that she would not put it past President Trump to use this system to lie about a terrorist attack. What Whoopi is conveniently forgetting is that we have had a president lie about a terrorist attack, not only the president but his whole administration lied about a terrorist attack. For weeks after the Benghazi attack in which four Americans lost their lives, President Obama and his administration told the American public the attack was a protest over a tasteless video that got out of control. During the time they were saying this to the American public, President Obama and his administration knew the attack was a terrorist attack.

Fortunately this time the tactic of liberals of "if you repeat something often enough it will become the truth" didn't work and the public eventually found out the attack was actually was by terrorist rather than just an out of control mob. When this happened we didn't hear Whoopi and company discussing the president potentially, or in this case actually, lying to the American public. Based on history, it appears a liberal president is more likely to lie to the American public about a terrorist attack than a conservative president.

Mr. Flood goes on in the article covering and earlier episode in which the members of the view were discussing the tax cuts that have been implemented. During this episode Joy Behar made the comment:

“I have more money in my paycheck, but I don’t care, because I like to breathe the air. Call my kooky,”

With the response from Whoopi of

“You might have some money now, but you’re going to end up spending more because you’re not able to write off anything or very few things."

These two statements point out how out of touch these two women are with the average American citizen and make me wonder why people watch this show. Joy Behar has as net worth of somewhere between $8 million and $12 millon, while Whoopi's net worth is estimated at $45 million. Annual salaries are estimated at $500,000 for Behar and $5,000,000 for Whoopi.

For multimillionaires it is easy not to care about a little extra money in your pocket. With salaries enjoyed by Behar and especially Whoopi an extra two or three percent in your pocket every paycheck means very little. For most of the rest of us this is a much larger deal.

Whoopi just sold a home in Pacific Palisades for $8.8 million but also owns a $2.8 million house in West Orange, New Jersey, and a $4 million condo in New York City. Just from her real estate it is easy to see why Whoopi is concerned about the loss of deductions on tax filings. Those of us with more modest incomes and net worth probably don't have the same issues with the loss of deductions as Whoopi.

I recognize there will be some people that don't receive benefits from the tax cuts and may actually pay more taxes. For the majority of what is left of the middle class, the tax cuts do provide more money in our pocket. In my case in particular the increase in the standard deduction provides a benefit far greater than that lost in deductions being eliminated.

My point is Behar and Whoopi will sit on the set of The View espousing liberal viewpoints and condemning things being said by conservatives. The reality is they are out of touch with the American public and are using their selective liberal view of history to distort things that are trying to be done by not only the Trump administration but any conservative organization.

To refer to the View as a news presentation is appauling. It is no more than a talk show with a bunch of rich liberals expounding their nonsense. As employment numbers continue to climb and a vast majority of middleclass Americans see some more money in our paychecks, how is this a bad thing. We would all like to have the problem of not being able to write off every single penny on our multitude of realestate holdings. How dare they sit upon their high horse and act as though they are holier-than-hell!

Exactly. I'm not sure where their legal residences are but with Whoopi's real estate in states with high taxes and now state/local taxes are no longer deductible, big hit for her.

Not just employment numbers climbing but also salaries. Liberals don't or won't see that allowing millions of aliens into the country to flood the job market keeps worker salaries low. Higher salaries in the workforce will mean some inflation but at the same time people have more money. That additional money due to a tight labor market grows our economy. Controlling our borders is the key to keeping our economy growing.

Odd how those two can hear truths and ignore. How arrogant of them to push their views through public sccess wjere they get paid to present material. Or, in this case, only opinions. The show, news or daily program, should come with warnings. OPINIONS ONLY, no fact based discussions. Those women have said thimgs much more hateful about Trump yet they wallow in horror when he uses the term 'animal' referencing M13 members.

P

I am always amazed at how hateful their speech can be while criticizing something someone else has said, and they never see or are called out on the hypocrisy.
